W6:Gatineau Park

Join us for a hike on the path surrounding beautiful Pink Lake in the Gatineau Park. It’s a 2.5 km walk with a moderate level of difficulty (it takes about an hour, depending on your speed). You will walk up and down stairs so you will need energy and comfortable sport shoes or hiking boots. For more information on Pink Lake, please visit the Gatineau Park website.

12:15 p.m.: Meet Nancy Thiffault (Student Services Coordinator) and Alexander Davis (TA) on the ground floor of Hamelin Hall, 70 Laurier East.

12:30 p.m.: Departure from campus.

1:00 p.m.: Arrival at Pink Lake.
Start walking. Follow the path, it’s a loop around the lake so you will finish at the starting point. Enjoy the trail and take pictures.

Go back to the bus. We will go to the Champlain lookout to see a breathtaking view of the Gatineau valley. Slow walkers will be picked up on the way back.

4:00 p.m. at the latest: Departure from Gatineau Park.

4:30 p.m.: Arrival on campus

Cost: It is free!

Registration period: From Tuesday, October 3 (4 p.m.) to Friday October 6 (1:30 p.m.). Limited space. First come, first served!


What to bring:
◾Wear comfortable walking shoes or rain boots in case of light rain.

◾Dress according to the weather. Warm (wear layers) and waterproof clothing is recommended to be well prepared for any kind of weather.

◾Bring water to keep hydrated and a light snack.

◾Eat lunch before 12:15 p.m. You will not be able to buy anything on location. It is a natural park so there are no stores or restaurants.

◾Your student card.

◾Your health insurance card.

◾Stay on the trail at all times.
